What Does the Program Do?

In the year 2021, Care for 24 seeks to provide nutritious food for 1,200 Tunisian youth threatened by food insecurity, 50 from each of the country's 24 regions.

Hunger not only deprives youth of food, it also prevents them from having the energy they need to learn, grow, and realize their full potential.

Who does this program serve?

This program was created to benefit youth that currently or are at risk of facing hunger. The program’s current focus is to provide urgent food assistance to youth whose families have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly for single mothers, and parents who are out of work.

With climbing unemployment, loss of savings, and limited access to food in certain areas of the country, the need for these services is greater than ever.

How Does this program honor the principle of inclusiveness?

By investing in youth from all of the country’s regions regardless of gender or ability, Tunisia can build upon its achievements in establishing a democratic system to forge the next chapter of the nation’s full advancement into the global economy.

How are youth helping with this program?

The Tunisian Scouts and Junior Chamber International (JCI) chapters are volunteering to distribute food packages and build connections with the kids.

Who are our partners in this program?

Teachers are serving as volunteers to help identify kids who need the extra attention now that everyone is out of school as well as distributing meals.

  • Tunisian Scouts will be distributing food to the families
  • JCI volunteers will be distributing food to the families and connecting with the kids during this period of time
