Care For 24 | Fueling Hope, Freedom, and Opportunity

The gross national  income (GNI) per person is only 3,720 dollars compared with 43,990 dollars in France. Poverty mainly affects the western regions of the country. Unfortunately, the situations for youth are heavily influenced by the economic condition of the country. This trend, along with the issue of poverty, results in a loss of opportunities for economic advancement and the self-realization of dreams for an entire generation.

This problem not only prevents young people from pursuing their dreams but also presents a threat to Tunisia’s nascent democratic system, which began in 2011 as a result of the Arab Spring revolution.

Out of the many countries that took part in this movement, Tunisia is the only nation that has sustained its status as a truly democratic nation, a status dependent on future generations to be preserved. The best way to ensure success is to teach young people to dream and equip them with the education they will need to turn those dreams into a reality.

Our Mission

To ensure that all youth in Tunisia are safe and happy by providing proper nutrition, education, health services, and the opportunity to pursue their dreams through empowerment.

Our Vision

To give all youth across Tunisia’s 24 regions the opportunity to pursue their dreams and lead a happy, healthy, and productive life.

History

After having the opportunity to live and study abroad, international entrepreneur and thought leader Olfa Hamdi founded Care for 24 as a way to give back to her home country of Tunisia by promoting the values of freedom and equality

Coming from humble beginnings, Olfa is grateful for the mentorship and education that allowed her to expand her world and to have the opportunity to lift up young lives through various initiatives including the Najah Youth Workshops Initiative and the Tunisian Citizen day Initiative.

Care for 24 was founded to give all youth across Tunisia, regardless of  background or current circumstances, the opportunity to pursue their dreams and lead a happy, healthy, and productive life.

2010 to 2015 – Najah Leadership Workshop Series

A volunteer initiative aimed at helping youth in high schools across Tunisia develop their leadership skills; this initiative included work done at the American School in Tunis. Today, alumni of the Najah Workshop Series serve as volunteers within Care for 24.

2014 to Present – Tunisian Citizen Day

An initiative to raise parents’ awareness of volunteer work and American values in education. Through this event, Olfa invited an American pianist to her hometown of Gafsa and performed a classical music concert for the local community of kids and parents. Watch the inspiring performance done at the American School in Tunis and alumni of the Najah Workshop Series are now volunteers within Care for 24.
